Acupunture

Acupuncture has a long and successful history. There are medically qualified acupuncturists who tend to use acupuncture for specific problems, particularly pain. Whilst not fully understood, it is thought that acupuncture can affect the pain pathways in the nervous system.

Professional acupuncturists tend to have a more detailed and holistic training. They will tend to know and use traditional Chinese herbal medicine in conjunction with acupuncture. Treatment with traditional acupuncture is used in some chronic conditions. Like homeopathy, it may be suitable for situations where where the physical disease has an emotional dimension.
