A plastic surgeon deals with complex procedures involving the skin. This might include cosmetic surgery, as well as surgery for burns or scars, removal of skin tumours where skin grafting is required. They would also deal with complex surgery involving the tendons or nerves especially in the hands. They would hold the FRCS but will have undertaken higher training.
