Urology
A Urologist treats both male and female patients with disease of the urological system (ie the kidneys, ureters, bladder and urethra. Urologists also treat conditions of the male reproductive system including prostate and testicles. Conditions treated by urologists would include:
  • benign and malignant prostate disease
  • bladder polyps and bladder cancer
  • kidney and bladder stones
  • impotence
  • benign cysts in the scrotum
  • testicular cancer
  • incontinence of urine
  • bleeding into the urine

Urologists hold the FRCS and will have undertaken further specialist training in Urology.
